Unique Imaging Solutions provide painless noninvasive studies for vascular disease utilizing advanced Ultrasound and Doppler technology in which no needles are involved. These studies will quickly and accurately detect abnormalities of the Carotid Arteries, Abdominal Aorta, and Peripheral Vascular Disease of the Lower Extremities. Please wear loose fitting clothing.

1. Cerebrovascular- Carotid Artery Vascular Study - $45.00
   60% to 80% of Strokes are linked to Carotid Artery Blockage. Purpose – the ultrasound duplex color flow imager will allow the vascular technologist to visualize the buildup of any fatty plaques or vessel narrowing in the carotid artery that could lead to a Stroke. Procedure – the technologist will apply an acoustic gel over both sides of your neck and use the ultrasound transducer to see the inside of the carotid arteries. The technologist will also measure the velocity of the blood flow for determination of the severity of the plaque build up.

2. Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Study-(AAA) - $45.00
   The majority of patients with an Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm have no symptoms until rupture. Purpose – to visualize and measure the Abdominal Aorta to detect an aneurysm or enlargement of the main artery of the body which could lead to rupture and death. Procedure – the technologist will apply an ultrasound gel on your abdomen and use the ultrasound transducer to visualize the aorta and take images and measurements.

3. Ankle Brachial Index - (ABI) - $45.00
   Peripheral Vascular Disease/Peripheral Arterial Disease in the lower extremities is also linked to coronary artery disease. Purpose – To determine the ratio of the blood pressure in the lower legs to the arm blood pressure. An abnormal ABI indicates lower extremity arterial disease. Some studies also indicate that patients with peripheral vascular disease in the lower extremities are at higher risk of coronary artery (Heart) disease. Procedure – Blood pressure cuffs are placed around your ankles and arms. Doppler systolic pressures are obtained using the ultrasound transducer and an inflation device.

When a physician requires evaluation of your symptoms utilizing a diagnostic ultrasound test - you can elect to have your examination performed by Unique Imaging Solutions, Inc. The board-certified surgeons who interpret our test results are leaders in their field. All tests are performed by ARDMS registered vascular technologists (RVT). Unique Imaging Solutions, Inc. offers a complete array of non-invasive peripheral vascular testing, including carotid duplex, renal artery, aortic, venous duplex, and lower extremity physiological. All ultrasound protocols are performed in accordance with the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories. Immediate preliminary interpretations are provided by our registered vascular technologists at the time of service with a final hard copy interpretation given to the referring physician within 24 to 48 hrs.
